Dr. Caitlin Slade Lenz, DDS
We are excited to introduce our newest doctor, Dr. Caitlin Slade Lenz! Dr. Lenz is originally from Metairie, Louisiana and is so happy to be joining our practice! She graduated from Mt. Carmel Academy and then received her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry in 2016. Dr. Lenz and her husband Tyler met in Texas and got married in January 2022. They were thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to Louisiana and be closer to family. She has partnered with Dr. Bessonet and they will continue providing patients with the same excellent service and care of Apple Street Dental. Dr. Lenz is committed to providing the best dental care to her patients in a compassionate and relaxing atmosphere. She attends numerous continuing education courses each year and is passionate about learning new restorative techniques and research so she can provide quality, comfortable, and comprehensive dentistry to her patients. She brings years of experience to our practice in sedation, oral surgery, endodontics, cosmetics, crown & bridge, and restorative dentistry for both adults and children.
Dr. Lenz loves to travel and has been to 24 countries. She participated in a medical mission trip to Guatemala during her time at LSU School of Dentistry and helped treat hundreds of underserved patients in rural villages. She is passionate about helping others and serving the community. She has traveled all over the United States and enjoys visiting national parks and historical sites. She loves to stay active by playing golf, tennis, and running in her free time. She is an avid LSU fan and likes to attend the football and baseball home games. Dr. Lenz and her husband Tyler have a 4 year old lab mix named Riley who is a sweetheart. Dr. Lenz is looking forward to getting to know all of the wonderful patients here at Apple Street Dental!
Dr. Calvin Bessonet, DDS
Dr. Calvin Bessonet is dedicated to providing families in his community with quality dental care for a lifetime of healthy, beautiful smiles! He graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1994, received his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in 1998, and went on to earn his dental degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2003.
Dr. Bessonet is committed to lifelong learning in the dental field and has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader who exemplifies the importance of quality continuing dental education. He completes more than 100 hours of continuing education courses each year. He has participated in an intensive, 400-hour implant and bone regeneration program with the esteemed Dr. Hilt Tatum, one of the pioneers in the field of implant dentistry and inventor of many of the advanced surgical techniques used today. Additionally, advanced training in cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry, as well as Invisalign® and traditional braces, allows Dr. Bessonet to work with you on a wide variety of dental concerns, forming a partnership in achieving your optimum oral health.
Dr. Bessonet is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He has also achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) by completing 500 hours of continuing education and passing an extensive comprehensive exam. He is passionate about using new technology to improve the comfort and quality of dentistry for you and your family. With the help of today’s intraoral camera, digital X-rays, laser cavity detection, and sedation, he can provide dental care that is more comfortable and less invasive than ever before. He also owns the Louisiana Implant Institute where he teaches other dentists how to place dental implants.
Outside of the office, Dr. Bessonet enjoys spending time with his wife, Toni, and their two beautiful children. Dr. Bessonet’s hobbies include fishing, outdoor activities, and attending LSU sporting events.
Dr. Gregg Roy, DDS
Dr. Gregg Roy is a native of St. John the Baptist Parish, born and raised in Laplace. He graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in 1991 with honors and spent the next six months in an oral surgery externship learning advanced surgical techniques and anesthesia. In 1993 he joined the practice of Dr. JA Almerico and together they had the privilege of treating generations of wonderful families.
Dr Roy keeps current with the latest dental innovations by attending many hours of continuing education courses. He is supported by a vast network of local dental specialist and together they can provide you with all of the state of the art the services you may need.
Toni Bessonet
Toni is our office manager and she is from Houma, La. She is married to Dr. Bessonet and they have two children. She loves cooking, working out and exploring new places. What Toni likes the most about our Norco patients is their undeniable loyalty in supporting their community. They tend to stick with what works and for her that feels close to home since she is also from a smaller town. She has a bachelors in HRT but has worked side by side with Dr. Bessonet in their dental practices for 15 years.
Jan Hursey
Jan Hursey is one of our dental hygienists. She graduated from Loyola University and joined our team in 1981. She is a native of New Orleans and a lover of cats, golfing, gardening and travel. She takes great pride in getting to know our patients and feels like she is rewarded with their loyalty in return. She finds satisfaction in providing them with relaxation and quality care. She will eventually be cutting her hours and hopes to one day retire but for now she is still a blessing to her patients here at Apple Street Dental.
Jenell Nickell
I recently moved here from Colorado. Although Colorado is beautiful, Louisiana has proven to be just as beautiful with all the southern hospitality, fun traditions, and rich culture. I have a 23 year old daughter, a 20 year old son and a 17 year old daughter whom I absolutely adore. My two oldest are making their way in Colorado but my baby lives with me. I enjoy exploring and trying new things. I have been a dental assistant for 25 years and can honestly say I am blessed to be working here at Apple Street Dental. The staff here have become more like family to me and I am here to stay. I look forward to meeting you and seeing you smile.
Lynn Vidal
I have been working in Dentistry and customer service serving as a patient liaison for over 20 years. I have vast knowledge in patient insurance, claims, and billing. I am very passionate about patient care and find it very rewarding. I have 3 amazing children that I absolutely adore, born and raised in New Orleans and love my city! I’m a huge Saints fan and bleed black and gold! In my free time I love to travel and enjoy all of the wonderful restaurants and culture Louisiana has to offer. You can always find me at a great restaurant or a live music event. I look forward to ensuring that you have the best dental experience possible and always available for any of your questions or needs. Laissez les bon temps Rouler!!!!
Carolyn Vitrano
Carolyn is the administrative member of our staff and a resident of Norco. She is the longest serving team member with over 40 years of experience. She is an asset to us with her vast knowledge of insurance as well as our practice management software. She is the one who greets you when you enter the office. Carolyn plans to retire soon but we hope she will hang in as long as she can. Her knowledge and experience in the dental field is impressive. We are absolutely blessed to have her on our team.
Raquel
Raquel is a Metairie native. She attended Nicholls State University and recently graduated from LSU Dental School as a registered dental hygienist. She loves connecting with her patients by positively influencing their oral health and general confidence. When she’s not talking dentistry, she can be found working out, exploring NOLA, attending music festivals, or enjoying a picnic date with her boyfriend and puppy.
Reagan Fink
Reagan lives in Norco but is originally from Arkansas. She married a local and together they have a precious little family. She is one of the two dental assistants at Apple Street. She and Jenell are rockstars behind the scenes. They keep the office stocked and running smoothly. Reagan loves helping our patients feel calm and relaxed during their appointment. She can’t wait to meet you and make you smile!
Rene Eberts
Rene is from New Orleans but recently moved to Bayou Gauche and is married with two children. She loves spending time with her friends and family. She is an animal lover and loves camping. She loves meeting new patients and seeing them smile. She looks forward to meeting you!
